Mmmm... timing seems a bit off. Will try to align them better once I receive my long spark plug socket.

Oh, did the first quick clearance test on cylinder #1
All a bit on the tight side, but still within spec.
Not sure if I'll change them, will do some more measuring first.

If your timing chain was worn or the tentioner not working properly the timing marks might be out of alignment, at your milage the timing chain couldn't be worn or stretched

If the clearance is in spec I wouldn't touch it ,it could have been built exactly like that because it was in spec and has never moved

These engines have quite a bit of mechanical noise, well mine does. Keep in mind the fuel injectors make some noise also kinda click click click plus the clutch makes a rumble, pull the clutch and you will hear that disappear

After spark plug removal, (some leakage on cylinder 1 !) I managed to line up IN/EX marks.
At TDC, good tension on the camshaft chain. In betweens, there's a big slack. (>1cm hanging down between camshaft sprockets)
Is this right ? Should the chain only be tensioned at (or around) TDC ?

Been quite busy lately.
Issues found and sorted:

Worn cam shaft chain (+ possibly failed tensioner)
Timing off by 1 teeth
2x exhaust on loose side, 1x intake on tight side
Debris under camshaft cover
Leakage trough spark plug
Mixture too rich (partly to be sorted)
Exhaust gasses leakage (collectors)

And some other non engine related issues such as brake fluid, chain,...
Aaaah... Quality times with the Nuda ☺

Will report when she's back up and running!

I see no point in doing that since there are ready made options
